Create Your Cineterns Profile
Register with your SA Film Academy credentials. Build your profile with your specialisation, portfolio work, showreel link, production experience, and availability. Your SAFA Verified badge is automatically applied once your academy credentials are confirmed.
Get Discovered or Browse Listings
Employers actively browse intern profiles on Cineterns. You may receive direct messages from productions looking for your specific skills. Alternatively, browse our active job listings and apply directly to opportunities that match your interests and availability.
Apply and Connect
When you apply for a listing, your full profile is shared with the employer. They can message you directly through the platform. All communication and coordination happens right here — no external platforms required.
Get Placed and Build Your Career
Placements run for six or twelve months depending on the production's needs. Some short-term placements may also be available. Once placed, you continue to build your industry network and your professional credits — the real currency of a film career.

Register Your Organisation
Create a free employer account for your production house, studio, broadcaster, or post-production facility. Verification is quick — we confirm you are a legitimate film and TV industry organisation operating in South Africa or internationally.
Post Your Opportunity
List your internship or placement opportunity at no cost. Specify the role, duration (six or twelve months), required specialisations, location, and any other requirements. Your listing goes live immediately and is visible to all 250+ verified SAFA interns on the platform.
Browse Verified Profiles
Don't wait for applications — actively browse intern profiles filtered by specialisation, location, availability, and skills. Every profile carries a SAFA Verified badge, meaning every candidate you see has completed professional, on-the-job film and television training.
Connect Directly
Message interns directly through the platform. Review their portfolios, showreels, and production credits. Schedule interviews. Make your selection — all without leaving Cineterns.
Place and Support Your Intern
Once you've selected an intern, confirm the placement through the platform. We ask that you provide a structured, mentored environment for your intern. SAFA has prepared them professionally — your role is to give them the real-world opportunity they've earned.
Internship Durations
Cineterns supports flexible placement durations:
Six-Month Placements for project-specific roles, short productions, or trial periods.
Twelve-Month Placements for longer productions, series, or ongoing post-production work.
Employers specify the duration when posting. Interns filter by availability. The right match is always the priority.
